“The content is no longer available”

You know what I hate?
When I fall in love with a weblog, and then it unexpectedly disappears, and I have no way of contacting the blogger.
Seeklight, where did you go? Drop me an email, buddy. Better yet, resurrect the weblog, will ya?

Update: I love the internetS. And emails in response to weblog-SOSs!

  1. hi. it’s one one of the things on my hate list too.
i still don’t know why riverbend has stopped writing, it’s been so many months.

  2. conflict,
i know! i can’t help but feel abandoned when bloggers go on haituses (is that the way it’s spelled in the plural?) or delete their websites.
i wish riverbend would update, too. =/ i hope all’s well with her.

  3. Assalamu Alaikum,

I was going through your blog and caught the magic word, ‘Hindko’. Now, from what I know Hindko is spoken in the Attock district of Pakistan. I figured one of your parents is from that region and since everybody from the same village is somehow always related to one another, could you please tell me the name of the village?

I’m not from Attock but my mother-in-law is and was just wondering if you could be part of the same extended family. Most of them have flocked around Birmingham, Cardiff (UK) and Stockton (California) from what I see.

My mother-in-law is from Gorgushti (I think thats how its spelt) and father-in-law from Behbooti.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Take care, wasalams :)

  4. Or when you find an amazingly interesting blog, look at the date of the last post, and it reads 2003.
Now that really gets my goat.

  5. Yasmine jaan,

Sorry for the long silence. Stuff happened. But the good news is, I’m back, at a new address. Check it out! Adding you to my blog roll, cuz I can do that now.

    Besos, Sofia

  6. I know the feeling, there was a blogger that I once loved… many years ago when I had my own blog. Her name was “Ushi” or thats what she called herself… I stopped reading for a while and when I went back to find her, she was gone… I searched a lot but no luck =\
    Where are you Ushi?

  7. You need to update your blog more often, because right now, I’m feeling abandoned.

    kthnxbye :D

  8. Hi Yasmine,
I’m glad, you’re still here! I love your posts and pictures. They make me smile :D

  9. I think bloggers who abandon their own blogs feel as though they are abandoning a close friend. Thats why they keep trying to come back but its never as joyous as the first time!

  10. sometimes natural causes are behind a blog not getting updated. i used to listen to a fantastic podcast from by this guy AJ from Maine somewhere, called RoadRage. AJ stopped podcasting quite abruptly in October 2006…naturally, i was pretty upset. then i did a google search and found that he’d died quite unexpectedly (http://podcastfanatic.wordpress.com/2006/12/30/road-rage/). his podcast archives are still available here: http://roadrageradio.libsyn.com/

  11. Bloggers are mostly discontent beings, prone to moodswings, focus shifts and all tht. They come online to fill the void inside them. They stop blogging mostly koz they find something more fulfilling or they realise that a blog was not what they really wanted.
